 |
Alan Gibbons is an award-winning children’s author and activist. Winner of nineteen literary awards, Alan received the Blue Peter Book Award ’The Book I Couldn’t Put Down’ for his novel Shadow of the Minotaur. He has also been shortlisted on two occasions for the Blue Peter Book Award.
Alan established the Campaign for the Book and joined the Stand up for Libraries coalition that mounted two lobbies of parliament to argue in defence of the public library service. He also established a petition of seven thousand people demanding school libraries be made statutory.
Alan has been, among other things, a factory worker, teacher and journalist.
