CILIP Employers Forum: Future ready library and information services

CILIP Employers' Forum Forum 2025: Future-proofing your service
CILIP’s popular one-day Employers' Forum is hosted this year in London at Lambeth Palace Library just ten minutes from Waterloo station. The Employers' Forum provides an excellent opportunity for senior staff to share knowledge, network and learn alongside their peers. And we are also offering an optional pre-workshop behind-the-scenes tour of Lambeth Palace Library and post-event coffee or drinks in a cafe bar. The day's focus is on how you can future-proof your service. From thinking through your next steps on AI to best practice in top-level engagement through to the skills of the future and embedding library and information services in the digital transformation process, this event is set to provide you with valuable take-aways. This event is generously sponsored by EBSCO Information Services. Objectives In this Forum, delegates will - Understand the relevant results of the new CILIP/University of Sheffield AI survey and report from the Survey author, Dr Andrew Cox.
- Hear how information professionals and librarians in the HE sector have successfully embedded themselves in the process and the key take-aways for your organisation.
- Learn from CILIP on engaging with key decision-makers. How successful have you been and what lessons can we share?
- Hear from course leader Virginia Power on the changes she made to her courses following last year’s Employers’ Forum.
- And discuss with CILIP's Sonia Ramdhian the future skills needs in your team.
- Get a chance to build contacts with peers across the profession.
Optional extras As has become customary, we are pleased to offer an optional library tour before the workshop and post-event networking over drinks. You can book your place on the library tour and networking drinks on the Attendee Selections. Pricing structure

Its mission is to promote public access to its collection by welcoming researchers and through public engagement, such as outreach and cultural and academic partnerships. The current building, completed in 2020, is the Library's first purpose-built home and the first new building on the site for some 185 years. At the heart of its design is care for its internationally important collections. All stores in he building are temperature- and humidity-controlled with fire suppression systems. As the Palace lies on a flood plain, the archive repositories are located above any potential flood risk. The building frame is designed so that the archive stores are as airtight as possible, and all air is filtered to prevent pollution damaging the books and archives. More information here.
