Book now The Gibraltar Garrison Library was founded in 1793 as a Private Subscription Library and functions as a reference library and research centre, providing open access to the collections and archives. It holds a 45,000 book collection, including many rare
volumes, archival collections, a newsprint collection and an extensive image library (photographs and slides). There is an excellent local history collection, along with many lithographs and art prints. You may even spot the Library cat!
