This tour offers a flavour of the range of library and information services available in Plymouth. It will also provide the opportunity to gain an insight on the jobs involved in the different sectors and a chance to build professional networks. Rail and bus links are available, although there will be some walking between venues.

Starting the day with a visit to Plymouth Proprietary Library, where some of the oldest and rarest books in Devon are housed, as well as a maritime collection and classic crime corner. The PPL is one of the oldest surviving private subscription libraries in Devon and Cornwall. Plymouth Central Library, PL1 1HZ Our next venue is Plymouth Central Library in the heart of the city, with an opportunity to explore the library environment and available facilities. It is the largest of the 11 libraries run by Plymouth Libraries in the city. Lunch at The Box, PL4 8AX (this is optional) The Charles Seale-Hayne Library, University of Plymouth, PL4 8AA The Charles Seale-Hayne Library has four floors with learning spaces, approximately 350,000 books, 500,000 eBooks and 80,000 current journal titles.
