To reserve a place, e-mail Darren at: chair.sw@cilip.org.uk The club's involvement in mountaineering from early Victorian ascents in the Alps to Everest in the 20th Century has resulted in a fascinating collection that tells the history of early alpinism through diaries, archives and (of course) ice axes! The library is one of the largest collections of mountaineering books in the UK and this tour will endeavour to show the collection and how it's used in the present day. There will also be a quick look at our new exhibition covering the work of Edward Compton.
