A visit to University Printing House

30th April 2019, 11am - 4pm

The Cataloguing & Indexing Group (CIG) are pleased to announce this great opportunity to visit Cambridge University Press offices, but hurry as places are limited to only 10!

 

The visit is hosted by Concetta La Spada and will include:

  • a tour of the Cambridge University Press Museum which holds, among others, the 1534 Letter Patent signed by Henry VIII enabling the Cambridge University to print books
  • a tour of the Cambridge University Press Archive, where every print book or journal ever published by the Press are hold
  • an opportunity to meet people from various departments who will explain all the processes of what CUP call book publishing

If you have ever been curious to see how a publisher works and to have a better idea of the bibliographic metadata journey this is the event for you.

 

The Press offices are completely accessible but please note there is a 15 minutes’ walk from the train station to the venue.

 

Lunch will be provided.

 

The visit will start promptly at 11am. Please meet at the Press reception where you will be greeted by your host.
