Partnerships with Global South Countries: Developing a Generic Model - a joint ILIG and UKeiG Informal

Wednesday 20th October 2021 at 18.00

CILIP has the potential to play an important role in partnering with Global South countries, multinational agencies and funders in order to:

· improve Global South countries’ information and knowledge infrastructures;

· raise awareness of their needs;

· learn from their innovations and practice.

The role might be characterised as a catalyst, leveraging (pro bono) the professional expertise of CILIP members to develop and support projects in partnership with funders, multinational agencies and individual countries.

This joint Informal will discuss the concept of a generic model and how it might be developed. It will be led by David Ball; additional speakers to be announced.

David Ball is a member of the ILIG Committee and Chair of UKeiG. He was University Librarian at Bournemouth for 18 years, and has also worked on European projects and while in Uganda with EIFL and the Consortium of Uganda University Libraries.
