Dr Andrew Cox, Senior Lecturer, The University of Sheffield Andrew Cox is a senior lecturer at the Information School, University of Sheffield.
Nick Poole, Chief Executive, CILIP As CEO of CILIP, Nick is responsible for supporting our fantastic team to deliver for our members and for championing our profession. He studied Modern Languages and Linguistics and have a postgraduate qualification in the History & Philosophy of Science. Over the past 20 years, he has held various leadership roles in libraries, museums and the wider culture sector.
Sue Lacey Bryant, National Lead NHS Knowledge and Library Services Sue is passionate about bringing knowledge to bear on #AMillionDecisions by clinicians and patients, and about improving the quality of healthcare. Sue leads the development and implementation of HEE’s Knowledge for Healthcare strategy, heading up a top team, working with health knowledge and library teams across England.
As head of profession, workforce planning and the education and development of our specialist profession within the NHS is a high priority. Formerly Review Programme Manager for the Tool Review,Sue played a key role in instigating the CILIP Technology Review and was delighted to support this work.
Sue has extensive experience of shaping innovative roles in KM, predominantly in primary care, becoming Chief Knowledge Officer for a Primary Care Trust; and later Director of a Clinical Commissioning Group.
Sue received the CILIP Knowledge and Information Management Walford Award in 2018 for making an outstanding contribution to knowledge management.
Sir Alan Wilson, Turing Institute
Sir Alan Wilson FBA, FRS is Director, Special Projects at The Alan Turing Institute (Chief Executive, October 2016 until September 2018). In his research, as a mathematician and geographer, he works on the science of cities, building computer models that have applications in both planning and commercial sectors. He was Professor of Urban and Regional Systems in CASA, UCL from 2007 – 2018; Vice-Chancellor of the University of Leeds from 1991 to 2004 when he became Director-General for Higher Education in the then DfES. From 2013-2015, He was Chair of the Government Office for Science Foresight Project on The Future of Cities. He is a Fellow of the British Academy and the Royal Society. He was knighted in 2001 for services to higher education. He writes the quaestio blog, (www.quaestio.co.uk), which offers a range of essays on research challenges.
Jo Cornish, Chief Development Officer, CILIP Jo Cornish is the Chief Development Officer at CILIP. Working alongside the CEO and COO, she sets the strategic direction of CILIP. She is responsible for CILIP’s culture, content and sector expertise. She is a passionate advocate for the importance of information and knowledge roles and the value they bring to society.
Jo has a recent background in professional standards, quality assurance, assessment and qualifications. She is co-author of the revised sector skills framework the Professional Knowledge and Skills Base (PKSB). She leads the sector’s apprenticeship programme and is a founder-director apprenticeship assessment service, CILIP Pathways.
She provides strategic insight for several national sector skills projects including the Health Education England “Knowledge for Healthcare” strategy.
A Fellow of CILIP herself, with over 20 years’ experience as a practitioner, she specialises in building strategic partnerships across the profession.
