CILIP North West Learning and Networking Day
9.30-3.30, Tuesday 4th April 2023
Join us for a day of learning and networking, with some fantastic talks and workshops.
You will have the opportunity to learn more about reflective practice, developments in artificial intelligence from a library perspective, and how we can use poetry not just as a form of expression but also when applying for jobs!
We will be hosting three-minutes-of-learning sessions, to learn about individual or team developments in short snippets.
There will also be plenty of opportunity to have refreshments and network with your peers in the North West throughout the day. Finalised agenda to be sent to attendees the week before the event. Confirmed speakers:
- Annie Nye
- Bethany O'Donoghue
- Dom Conlon
- Jane Bailey
- Mark Ogden
- Tim Leonard
- Tracey Pratchett
A teaser for some of the sessions on the day: Reflective workshop - The reflective practice session will introduce you to the concept of reflective practice and will include time for you to use one of the models shared to structure a piece of reflective writing. You can use the reflective time to write about a project or experience at work, or you may choose to use the time to reflect on the CILIP NW Learning and Networking Day with a view to submitting your piece to one of the regional blogs/newsletters.
Poetry session - Using interactivity and performance, Dom will demystify and personalise poetry and suggest ways in which it can help us find our own voice to make everyday expressions, from job applications to science communication, connect on a human and emotional level. 3 minutes of learning sessions - - Shared learning about the new role of Trainee Clinical Librarian at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay and how it is going 3 months in
- Shared learning about accessibility within technology
- Shared learning about the complexities of off-campus academic librarianship, and experiences of a first librarian position
