Visit to 'Northern Lights: the Scottish Enlightenment'
30 August 2019 - 2pm
The Rare Books & Special Collections group is pleased to invite you for a curator-led tour of the National Library of Scotland's latest major exhibition. Join Robert Betteridge, the curator of 'Northern Lights: the Scottish Enlightment', for a tour of the exhibition which charts Scotland's leading role in the intellectual and scientific progress of the late 18th century. In addition to seeing and hearing more about some of the show's highlights, including items relating to Robert Burns, David Hume, Alison Cockburn, Adam Smith and many others, visitors will gain a unique insight into the process of mounting a major exhibition.
The tour is free but places are limited so please book early.
