Introduction to the CILIP LGBTQ+ Network

The hosts will discuss why the LGBTQ+ Network is being set up, what it aims to achieve and what events and activities are being organised. Participants will have a chance to ask questions and share their suggestions for activities.

Biography

LGBTQ+ network logoBinni Brynolf (they/them) is Co-Chair of the LGBTQ+ Network Steering Group and works in the library at Chatham House. As a trade union rep, Binni works with equality and diversity issues in their workplace.

Carl (he/him) is a CILIP LGBTQ+ Steering Group member and works in a health library. He’s also worked in other health libraries, and for shorter periods in academia and a national gallery. He enjoys working and learning collaboratively with inspiring activists and allies to advance equality and inclusivity.

Toni Velikova (she/her) is a member of the LGBTQ+ Network Steering Group and works as an Assistant Librarian at the Scottish Poetry Library. Her main interests are around inclusive cataloguing language and decolonising classification practices.
