Chris Collison and Paul Corney provide an overview of their soon-to-be-published Facet Publishing book– “The KM Cookbook”.  They will explain how it brings the new ISO KM Standard to life through the universal metaphor of food – and the success stories of 16 ‘KM chefs’ from around the world.

By the end of the webinar participants will have:

  • An overview of ISO30401 and how an ISO KM Audit would feel.
  • An introduction to the KM Chef’s Canvas – a strategic planning tool.
  • Exposure to case studies and success stories from KM leaders.
  • An understanding of the process which Chris, Paul and Patricia went through to write the book.

Biographies

KM Cookbook authors: Paul, Patricia and Chris

Chris Collison is a bestselling business author, consultant and internationally recognised expert in Knowledge Management. He has served over 140 client organisations around the world since 2005, including the World Bank, NHS, Deloitte, Vodafone, United Nations, European Commission and the International Olympic Committee. He is at the heart of UK government KM activities and leadership training, having worked with ten different departments. Chris is a chartered fellow of the CIPD, and a is regular speaker at conferences and business schools in the UK and internationally.


Paul Corney is a globally recognised KM figure who delivers keynote presentations, runs masterclasses, conducts KM assignments and is an acclaimed author (co-author of Navigating the Minefield: A Practical KM Companion and Knowledge Management Matters: Words of Wisdom from Leading Practitioners. He has conducted assignments in more than 25 countries and was recently appointed Knowledge & Information Ambassador for CILIP and is a member of the BSI KM Standards Committee that helped craft the ISO KM Standards.

Patricia Lee Eng, an engineer by trade, first learned about Knowledge Management whilst on assignment at NASA when engineers discovered that vital information from the Apollo program had been lost. Upon returning to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), she was appointed Senior Advisor for Knowledge Management (2008-2013) where she created and managed NRC’s first KM program. NRC saved 57 million dollars in agency operating costs in the first two years that the KM program was in place. Patricia has received numerous awards for her work, and after retiring from NRC, co-authored “Navigating the Minefield: A Practical KM Companion,” published by the American Society for Quality. She recently co-authored, “The KM Cookbook: Stories and Strategies for organizations exploring the ISO KM standard” which is scheduled for publication by FACET in the latter half of 2019. A certified ISO QMS Auditor, she was recently certified as the first ISO KM auditor.
