This session will introduce attendees to the concept of reflective practice and look at some models of reflective writing. By the end of this session participants will have:
• Discussed the challenges they face with reflective practice and reflective writing • Considered some theories of reflective practice • Identified some models for reflective writing • Considered how they can use reflective practice
for personal development • Select a model of reflective practice to structure a piece of reflective writing • Consider how reflective writing approaches can be adopted to highlight service outcomes and improvements

Biography
Tracey Pratchett Knowledge and Library Service Manager Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Tracey has worked in the health sector for 13 years as both a clinical librarian and the Knowledge and Library Services Manager at Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. Tracey has delivered reflective practice training to Junior
Doctors and Consultants and has also delivered sessions about reflective writing to library and information professionals working towards Chartership. Most recently Tracey has delivered a session on Reflective Practice in the Healthcare setting for
students at Manchester Metropolitan University and has supported managers to consider how they can use reflective writing approaches to support their submissions for the new Quality and Improvement Outcomes Framework.
