Digital, Media and Information literacy – understanding how to access and use information – is the cornerstone of learning and absolutely essential in this digital age. It supports learning and decision making in all areas of human activity: education from early years through school to higher education, the workplace, adult and lifelong learning and skills development. It helps people make informed choices about health care and gives people the information they need to cope with long term medical conditions. It helps people to develop new skills and make them more employable. Perhaps most important of all, in a period of political change, it gives citizens the understanding they need to make informed decisions about the future of their country. Join us along with Scotland’s Information Literacy Community of Practice for this online event on 8th September, part of the 2022 CILIPS online Autumn Gatherings, featuring: - UNESCO’s Media and Information Literacy initiatives
- Young People and IL – a panel discussion – featuring North Ayrshire Learning to Learn, Maddie is Online and Young Scot
- Making Sense of Media Literacy – Ofcom
- Information for Wellbeing course: empowering communities through digital, information and health literacy
- Information professionals and volunteers as ‘digital proxies’: impact on effectiveness of clients and employees of informal support in accessing services
- Wiki session – a Smorgasbord of work
