RBSCG in Conversation is an open forum for members of the rare books and special collections community to share questions, concerns, and creative solutions to current issues. In this session, members of the Cataloguing Ethics Steering Committee (CESC) will give a brief overview of their work, and invite discussion around the Cataloguing Code of Ethics (https://sites.google.com/view/cataloging-ethics/home). Published in January 2021, the Cataloguing Code of Ethics is an international effort led by members of CILIP, the American Library Association, and the Canadian Federation of Library Associations, and supported by volunteers from around the world. At 2pm on 30 June, members of the Cataloguing Ethics Steering Committee will be joining us for a conversation about the code and its accompanying case studies. The members of the Cataloguing Ethics Steering Committee are: - Beth Shoemaker, Emory University (co-chair) (ALA CORE representative) Staffing/Work Conditions Working Group Liaison
- Karen Snow, School of Information Studies, Dominican University (co-chair) (ALA CORE representative) Classification Working Group Liaison
- May Chan, University of Toronto (CFLA-FCAB CMSC representative) Access Scope & Infrastructure Working Group Liaison
- Jane Daniels, Cardiff Metropolitan University (CILIP MDG representative) Authority Work Working Group Liaison
- Sarah Furger, Joliet Public Library Subject Headings Working Group Liaison
- Diane Pennington, Department of Computer and Information Sciences, University of Strathclyde (CILIP MDG representative) Resource Discovery & Accessibility Working Group Liaison

There is a space on the registration form to include any questions or comments, and you are welcome to email the RBSCG Day Events Organiser, Christine Megowan (Christine.Megowan@ed.ac.uk)
This event is free of charge and open to all, but registration is required. A link to the Zoom meeting will be available upon registration. In order to promote free and open communication, this event will NOT be recorded, but a summary of highlights from the discussion will be available after the event.
