About the trainer

Jane Purdie
Chartered Marketer
MCIPR, DipM, MCIM

Currently working for Transport for Wales as Communications Business Partner for Bus

Jane has been working in marketing, public relations, events and communications for over 30 years covering a wide range of both private and public sector roles.

From 2006–2017 she led the All Wales Audience Development and Marketing Team for Libraries, Archives and Museums – running marketing campaigns, training staff and promoting the importance of these services. One of the library campaigns took second place at the 2009 IFLA Marketing Awards and she co-authored a chapter in an IFLA book following this.

Jane has seen massive improvements in the way libraries market and promote their services and is really keen that we position ourselves as businesses, ensure all staff are customer centric and knowledgeable about what’s happening in their library service and advocate to elected members and other departments within our organisations about how libraries can help deliver on so many organisational agendas.

Since changing roles in 2017, Jane has worked with businesses across North Wales and the North West of England and is currently working with Transport for Wales as they move into multimodal and particularly the bus sector.

She is an avid lifelong learner and has continued to work with libraries and the heritage sector to deliver training and presentations – most recently to Libraries Ireland earlier this year.
