Libraries, Censorship and Intellectual Freedom

Due to unforeseen circumstances this event has been cancelled. We will reshedule the event for later this year. Apologies for the inconvenience.

With hate speech and ‘book banning’ on the rise worldwide, librarians and information professionals are increasingly on the frontline in debates around censorship and intellectual freedom.

CILIP has launched a sector-wide consultation in order to develop a new policy and supporting materials on Censorship and Intellectual Freedom in our profession.

This 1-hour seminar will bring together leading practitioners to share practical insights and experiences, providing a platform for members and non-members to contribute to this important new policy.
