Join us for this afternoon of thought-provoking online sessions focused on the Emerging Leaders of our profession: celebrating the diverse talents they bring to Scotland’s libraries and the dynamic ways in which they are shaping the future of information and knowledge. From interview tips and tricks that will take your career to the next level to unusual areas of the Library & Information Sector that you might not have considered before, and even evolving definitions of leadership itself, this mini-conference is set to inspire and empower the new professionals, future stars and emerging leaders of Scotland’s libraries. Taking place on Thursday 20th October, 1-4pm – part of the CILIPS 2022 online Autumn Gatherings – our series of sessions includes: - Masud Khokhar, University Librarian and Keeper of the Brotherton Collection at the University of Leeds, on new models of leadership and their potential impact in libraries
- Cleo Jones, CILIPS Immediate Past-President, and the CILIPS Students & New Professionals Community, on top interview tips and techniques
- Unexpected Sectors – a panel discussion of more unusual LIS roles that you might not have considered before (but should)!
- The CILIPS Career Mentorship Scheme – an introduction to CILIPS's new career mentorship programme and the difference it could make to your professional development
-
This online event is free for all CILIP members with a charge of £40 for non-members. Please register here. While we wait, why not browse CILIPS's collection of resources dedicated to Emerging Leaders or discover the wonderful work of our Students & New Professionals Community?
