The Francis Crick Institute is a biomedical research institute established in 2010 and opened in 2016. It is a unique partnership between 6 of the world's leading biomedical research organisations: the Medical Research Council, Cancer Research UK, Wellcome, UCL (University College London), Imperial College London and King's College London. It works with organisations across academia, medicine and industry to make discoveries about how life works.

- the Francis Crick Institute origins, ideals and research
- the work of the library & information service at the Crick
- focus on open access
- how the design of the building influences th nature of the LIS function.
This virtual visit has been organised by CILIP RPG (Retired Professionals) in association with u3a (University of the Third Age).
