Speaker: Melanie Bigold (Cardiff University) Title: 'Books of her own': women's libraries and book ownership in the long eighteenth century What role did women play in the expansion and consumption of print culture between 1660-1820? Drawing on evidence of over 300 women's libraries, including detailed records from fifty women's book and library lists comprising some 30,000 titles, this paper will offer some preliminary details about what we have been missing in relation to women and their books in the long eighteenth century.
