Don't Shush Us! Censorship in School Libraries, online Wednesday 14th June, 5-6pm.

Please join School Libraries Group Scotland for this timely and thought-provoking online event from 5-6pm on Wednesday 14th June, with special guest Alice Leggatt. Let’s talk about censorship in the school library sector, how we can champion intellectual freedom and why it’s more important than ever not to be ‘shushed’!

Alice Leggatt is a School Librarian in a mixed state secondary school in London. She is a committee member for CILIP SLG, is currently undertaking Chartership and she has a special interest in issues of censorship and intellectual freedom. Previously a teacher, she moved to libraries (a long-held ambition) in 2021, and loves being part of a community of librarians, many of whom have saved the day for her countless time over the past couple of years!

This online event is free and open to all CILIP members. It will be hosted via MS Teams, so please register here to receive the joining link in advance.
