For Scotland’s Climate Week 2023, please join CILIP Scotland as we celebrate two years of our pioneering programme #CILIPSGoGreen with our online Green Libraries Gathering, filled with inspiring opportunities for Green Champions in LIS to collaborate, connect and reflect on library-led environmental action. Our series of friendly and informative workshops taking place throughout the day will include: 10 – 10.30am – The National Library of Scotland’s plan to create a tailored Carbon Literacy for Libraries Toolkit, supported by the CILIPS Research Fund 10.30 – 11.10am – Green Libraries Scotland Grant Fund recipient updates 11.10 – 11.15am Screen break 11.15am – 12pm How to help green library spaces take root - CILIPSGoGreen x CILIPS23 and CILIPS Carbon Neutrality Plan template workshop 12 – 12.15pm A beacon of hope: visioning libraries for the future with Glasgow Women’s Library, supported by the CILIPS Research Fund 12.15 – 1pm Lunch 1 – 1.45pm Planting the seeds of sustainable collections with Scottish Book Trust 1.45 – 2.20pm Green Libraries Scotland Grant Fund recipient updates 2.20 – 2.30pm Screen break 2.30 – 3.00pm Paperboats – how library communities can stand (and sail) in solidarity with writers tackling the climate crisis* * Please have a recyclable book, magazine or newspaper page ready to join the flotilla! 3.00 – 3.30pm Education for Sustainable Development through Libraries - how every LIS professional can have an impact (CILIPS x University of Strathclyde SLIC Innovation & Development Funded research-in-progress update) 3.30 – 4pm Optional breakout discussions and close The Green Libraries Gathering is free, online and open to all CILIP members.
