9.30-16:00, Wednesday 17th April 2024 Join us for a day of learning and networking, with some fantastic workshops, talks and opportunities to connect with your peers. (Further information about sessions to appear shortly)
Confirmed speakers - Andrew Walsh Andrew is a neurodivergent librarian, trainer, and National Teaching Fellow. Until recently he worked in academic libraries and still works part-time for Academic Libraries North, but now mainly focuses on training and writing about neurodivergence in the workplace, playful learning, playful leadership, and creative approaches to teaching, especially for library staff. He can be found as @Playbrarian on various social media or at https://playbrarian.uk/ This workshop will introduce different aspects of being neurodivergent (primarily autistic, dyspraxic, ADHD, Dyscalculic, Dyslexic) in the library workplace, how this impacts their experience of our workplaces, and how we can support each other to make our work more supportively neurodiverse. It will be a mixture of content presentation and activities where attendees will be asked to consider how common neurotypical environments may impact neurodivergent people.
There will be opportunity to share your learning, and listen to your peers learning in the three minutes of mayhem sessions: After the event, please join us for an after-event social (location to be confirmed)
