Green Libraries Week - Every Library a Green Library! With right hand image of people pointing into a botanical book with pressings of flowers in the pages. Text reading 'an introduction to nature writing with CILIPS. 10th October, 11am-12:30pm, online.

Especially for Green Libraries Week, this creative writing session hosted by experienced facilitator Amanda Wright will be a friendly, supportive space to explore your writing voice and have some fun doing it. The session will be a mix of bite-sized writing exercises and discussion, plus a little bit of chat! Everyone will have the chance to share some of their writing if they wish and get some feedback on it. No previous experience is necessary. Just bring along a pen and some paper. You already have everything else you need, just waiting for you to find it.

Amanda Wright is a Subject Specialist Librarian with NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde Library Network. Her short stories have appeared in online literary journals, The Cabinet of Heed and Literally Stories. Her short story Colours was one of five short stories awarded Most Memorable Line of 2020 by Literally Stories. She has created and delivers the Library Network’s Creative Writing Programme and is available to support creative writing projects in NHS GG&C. She has a keen interest in writing for wellbeing and in 2019 was invited to join the steering group for the Words for Wellbeing project, mapping bibliotherapy activity in Scotland and contributing to a vision for the development and greater recognition of bibliotherapy in the future.

Free and open to all CILIP members, with limited places available. Please register here to receive the Zoom link in advance.
