Autism and Libraries: SWAN Winspiration Special. 7th February 2025, 11am-12:30pm. Online and open to all CILIP Members SWAN and CILIPS logo.

Please join the latest event in our Winspiration: Feminism for Libraries series: an inclusive and interactive training session about autism and libraries with two autistic women, Becky Choat, Project Lead: Increasing Understanding of Autistic Women at SWAN, and Tanya Milligan, a senior librarian in a public library and trainer about autism and neurodiversity at Into Work.

The session will cover neurodiversity and neurodivergence, what is autism, autistic people’s experiences, and the intersection of autism and other identities such as gender. We will also discuss how to support autistic people in libraries, whether they are library users, colleagues, those you manage, or your manager. There will be opportunities for questions.

SWAN is an autistic-led Charity delivering services, information and support both for and by autistic women and non-binary people across Scotland. Into Work is a charity that helps disabled people find and keep great jobs and provides autism, neurodiversity, and disability training.

Free, online and open to all CILIP members.
