K&IM SIG AGM and CPD Event – 10 June 2025

“The impact of AI on knowledge work” with David Gurteen and Ron Young.

The K&IM SIG Annual General Meeting and CPD Event will take place on 10 June 2025 from 11.30 to 14.00 (UK time).

Please join us online, on Teams, to celebrate the year, look forward to the future and add your voice to the coming membership events.

After the AGM, we will have an Online Knowledge Café on the theme of “What Will Be the Impact of AI on Knowledge Work?”

This Knowledge Café will discuss the potential effects of AI on organizational knowledge work. We’ll explore questions like: How might AI transform knowledge work? Could AI take over specific knowledge management tasks? What new opportunities, risks and ethical challenges might arise? Bring your perspectives to discuss the opportunities and concerns related to AI’s potential role in knowledge management.

Host: David Gurteen, speaker: Ron Young.

Ron will share his insights on his experiences with human knowledge and AI and its transformative potential. Following his talk, participants will engage in a brief dialogue Knowledge Café style to discuss and contrast their different perspectives.

The Knowledge Café is a structured yet informal dialogue format where small groups engage in open, conversational exchanges around a central question to share knowledge, insights, and perspectives. It emphasizes listening, reflection, and collective sense-making over problem-solving or decision-making.

Attendance at the event is free to all who are interested, but only members of the K&IM Group can vote on any motions submitted to the AGM.

Motions for consideration should be sent to the Hon Secretary, Anne Fraser (secretary.kandim@cilip.org.uk) by 4 June 2025 at 17.00 (UK time).

The agenda and other papers for the meeting will be made available on the CILIP K&IM Website. To attend the event, please register in advance on the CILIP events page here. You will be sent details of how to connect using Teams in advance of the meeting.
