There is a CALL FOR ACTION – get involved!

Join an ARLG Regional working group – we have around 2,497 members from Further Education, Higher Education and Research Libraries. We are the largest and one of the oldest groups. We will fund events and can help promote them, but we need groups of people regionally to run the events. We need more volunteers to help organise events in your regions and online.

Involvement in ARLG Regional working groups makes it possible for members to help design and run the events and visits you want to attend  - for free, except travel, and many events can be offered online for convenience. For professional registration candidates this provides opportunities to gain transferable skills, network and subsequently evaluate your involvement and include it in your portfolio. Even if you only get involved for a year, we welcome new people to run events in your regions. Regional Co-ordinators are part of our National committee and hold planning meetings amongst themselves, so do volunteer even if you can only offer to plan F2F events in your own city or nearby area.

ARLG is supported financially by CILIP and the committee will pay invoiced catering, speaker or venue costs for events held by Regional working groups comprising CILIP ARLG members that have been agreed in advance with the committee.

We will invite all the candidates who show interest in any of our vacancies, to our next committee meeting in November to be nominated and seconded if the meeting is quorate.
