A new paperback edition of the Directory of Rare Book and Special Collections in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland, 3rd edition seeks to include repositories that were not represented in the 2016 publication.

If you missed out on submitting your collections to the 2016 edition, now is the time to consider including it. Inclusion, which is free of charge, is a great way to raise the profile of your institution whilst also helping researchers.

Special collections – either pre-1900 books, for example, or collections of books of any vintage that are treated as discrete entities outside the library’s general stock – are welcome for submission. Similarly, if you know of libraries which are not in the 2016 listing and have rare book or special collections, the editor would love to hear from you.
