CILIP would like to express our sincere condolences to our Patron, HM Queen on the passing of her husband, His Royal Highness, Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.

The Duke of Edinburgh was a President of the Library Association between 1950-51, a time which coincided with a period of growth and innovation in UK libraries. We are grateful to him for his service to the library and information profession.

CILIP President Paul Corney will be writing to Buckingham Palace to share condolences on behalf of our professional community.
