Lancashire has become the latest major employer to join CILIP’s Employer Partner scheme.
Lancashire County Council operates 64 libraries across the county and employs 415 staff. It will be working with CILIP to develop and support a workforce that delivers a first-class service to the residents of the county.
CILIP CEO Nick Poole said “I am very excited to welcome Lancashire Council as a CILIP Premium Employer Partner. Lancashire is a leading investor in workforce skills development. CILIP and Lancashire have worked closely on the development
of sector apprenticeships, with Lancashire as a Trailblazer lead and early adopter of the Level 3 Library information and archive services assistant apprenticeship. We are extremely proud to partner with them to continue this work
further.
The CILIP Employer Partner Scheme enables us to help employers in different sectors build their information capability and future-proof their workforce. Bringing together key employers from across the profession allows us share knowledge,
build services and open up funding opportunities. We look forward to working with Lancashire and the other CILIP Employer Partners to help develop the library and information workforce of the future.”
Steve Lloyd, Interim Head of Cultural Services at Lancashire County Council, said “We are excited to strengthen our relationship with CILIP by becoming a CILIP Premium Employer Partner. The most important resource Lancashire has is its
staff and we are delighted to be able to support them through our membership of the CILIP Employer Partner Scheme.”
The Employer Partner Scheme is CILIP’s organisational membership scheme for employers. Employers are offered a package to support the development of their workforce including free webinars for all staff, event and training discounts for
all staff, places at the annual CILIP Employers Forum and access to the industry skills framework (PKSB) for all staff and individual membership bundles.
