CILIP, the UK’s library and information association with support from Arts Council England is inviting tenders for its new programme, Digital Leadership for Libraries.
This project is the result of discussions with Libraries Connected and Arts Council England about the implementation of the Public Library Workforce and Skills Strategy (previously, the Public Library Skills Strategy). These discussions
recognised the need for library staff and leadership to consolidate the ‘digital pivot’ made during COVID-19 into a ‘future-ready workforce’ with the digital skills needed to engage with an increasingly online (and mobile) audience.
Digital Leadership for Libraries will comprise open-source, freely-available online learning modules, complementing the existing Digital Skills resources provided by Libraries Connected in Learning Pool. It will be developed in consultation
with the ACE Digital Champions to sit alongside and complement the Digital Skills modules for public library staff being developed by Libraries Connected as part of the expansion of the Digital and Information Offer.
The tender is to develop 5 open-access e-learning modules. These modules are intended to create engagement and expose learners to the ideas. This is not an academic piece but something that increases knowledge and enthusiasm and helps
library staff see how and why to apply the learning in practice. The content will be engaging and interactive, could and should include video, and interactive elements and case studies.
CILIP welcomes tenders from suitably qualified and experienced individuals, institutions and organisations with a proven record of creating e-learning content, especially if this has been within the library sector or around digital leadership.
More information on the project and how to apply can be found here in the Invitation to Tender.
The deadline for applications is 5pm on Wednesday 23 March 2022.
