The CILIP store is now open for business with a range of gifts and items that are inspired by the wonderful work of librarians and information professionals.

All products in the store are created with an ethical and environmental framework, with sustainable packaging and raw materials.

The first items to hit the virtual shelves are t-shirts, tote bags, mugs and stickers, with designs from CILIP’s Facts Matter Campaign.

Visit the store now.

Abigal Jaggers, Sales Manager, who launched the store said:

“We partnered with Teemill to bring this to life because they are as passionate as we are about using natural materials and renewable energy, and reducing plastic waste, so you can be confident every piece of CILIP merchandise you buy is environmentally friendly. “Having a library with a qualified librarian in your local community is key to supporting lifelong learning, and these designs are a tribute to the everyday work of librarians and information professionals.”

The designs show the Facts Matter slogan that was launched in 2017 in the run up to the general election. Since then, the spread of fake news and misinformation has become an even bigger issue.

To reduce waste, everything is printed on demand in the seconds after an order is made, so we only produce what we sell, no leftovers or waste stock.

T-shirts made by Teemill are produced with organic cotton and are certified organic to the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS). It is grown in the north of India, where monsoons fill reservoirs that supply the water needed, without irrigation.

Visit the store now, and you might even get some early Christmas shopping done!
