Five new members will join the CILIP Board on 25 January 2024, with a new Chair and a presidential team reshuffle.

Together they bring a unique and diverse skillset from libraries, finance, and brand management, that will help steer the direction of CILIP as we implement our We are CILIP strategy and action plan, during this election year.

Sue Lacey Bryant’s tenure as chair is also coming to an end, and we welcome Kate Robinson in taking over the role this January.

Sue Williamson has been elected as President, and Sue Lacey Bryant will now take on the role of Vice President.

Kate Robinson

Kate was appointed University Librarian for the University of Bath in 2012. Originally a Theology graduate from the University of Manchester, with an MA in Library & Information Studies, she has worked in libraries since the 1980s.

Kate is a Fellow of CILIP and the RSA and has a close relationship with CILIP - she was CILIP President in 2022. Her presidential theme of Workplace Development reflected a longstanding commitment in her career and voluntary activities.

Kate has held a number of senior leadership positions, including Chair of Governors, Justice of the Peace, Lecturer in Information & Library Management, Executive Board Member of IATUL and Chair of SW regional library groupings.

Surash Patel

Surash leads the EMEA region for Telesign, helping brands manage their digital identity and fraud prevention needs on an international basis.

In previous roles, he managed the RealNetworks’ Messaging / NLP (Natural Language Processing) business globally. Prior to RealNetworks, Surash co-founded mGage (now part of Kaleyra), holding roles of Chief Strategy Officer & COO for Europe. He has an MBA from London Business School.

Corin Peacock

Corin is in their first professional role as a Subject Librarian at Arts University Bournemouth, supporting art, architecture, and design courses. They were recently elected Secretary of ARCLIB, the association of architecture librarians, and are currently working towards professional registration.

Having graduated from their MA Librarianship in January 2023 - Corin was honoured to be recognised as one of the CILIP 125 within their first year on the job.

Their passion for equality and diversity shines through in their work at AUB. They chair the LGBTQ+ Staff Network and one of their most recent projects was a revamp of the religion section in their library.

Andrew Praeter

Andrew is Director of Library Services at Goldsmiths, University of London. Andrew joined Goldsmiths in 2023 and provides leadership and strategic direction for the library.

Prior to this his experience included roles in various further and higher education institutions, where he began his career working in library systems and IT.

Andrew’s professional interests include the role of academic libraries in widening participation in higher education, working-class experiences of libraries and education, and the application of critical librarianship to the theory and practice of library leadership.

Cornelia Andersson

Cornelia is Group Leader of Sustainable Finance & Investing, Data & Analytics, at the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG). In her current role, Cornelia runs a global business with a significant footprint across the financial community focused on solving sustainability related challenges for investors, corporates, banks and other market participants, through world class data and analytics based solutions.

A frequent speaker at industry events on market data and information as well as sustainable finance, Cornelia is a chartered information professional (CILIP), FIA qualified and has completed an MBA at Imperial College, London. She holds a Master’s Degree in Political Science from Lund University, Sweden.

Jonathan Waterfield
