This summer, a change of government will take place, and potentially hundreds of new MPs will join the House of Commons for the first time.
In the build-up to the general election, we will be launching the Libraries Change Lives social media and press campaign to engage politicians and decision-makers so that they truly understand the impact and value that library and information
professionals add to their communities.
CILIP launched Libraries Change Lives Week as an opportunity for the sector to engage with MPs, policymakers, and stakeholders in an election year, to put libraries firmly onto a new government’s agenda, and the campaign will culminate
in a parliamentary event in the latter half of 2024.

Submit your case studies
We have extended the deadline to submit case studies for Libraries Change Lives Campaign to build the strongest possible case for a new government in 2024.
The case studies tell the story of the valuable work and activities libraries undertake in their communities across six key areas: sense of place, green and sustainable, stronger communities, health and care,
enterprise, and creativity, and learning and social mobility.

Spreading the word
We are sharing the Libraries Change Lives stories on CILIP’s social media channels, website and on the Libraries Change Lives Impact Map.
Every story added to the Libraries Change Lives Impact Map will help to build an evidence base to strengthen
the voice and advocacy for the profession.
If you haven’t already taken part, please add you own service and share your success stories by 24 June 2024.
