Former CILIP CEO Nick Poole, and Honorary Fellow, Joseph Coelho also received OBEs in the 2024 honours list.

The tireless efforts and achievements of librarians and information managers have received royal recognition in the 2024 King’s birthday honours List.

Two CILIP members, Andrea Claire Ellison, lately Chief Librarian, Leeds Libraries and Lucas Maxwell, School Librarian, Glenthorne High School, Surrey, have received OBEs for services to libraries and education, respectively.

In total, seven library and information sector professionals received honours, including CILIP’s former CEO Nick Poole, who was honoured with an OBE for his services to libraries, arts and to museums. Nick’s eight-year tenure at CILIP ended earlier this year.

Jospeh Coelho, Children’s Poet Laureate, who was awarded honorary fellowship to CILIP last year, received an OBE for his work in arts, children’s reading and literature.
