You can still book a place for yourself or your colleagues to join the two-part online training ‘Copyright Essentials’, the fundamental workshop for anybody who is reproducing, creating, sharing, publishing, commissioning or digitising content.
Copyright Essentials is a long-standing training workshop, which provides the foundations for any librarian who needs a solid introduction to copyright.
The course is ideal for new members of staff, apprentices, or those wishing to brush up on the latest on copyright law and best practice, to help keep your library legally compliant when using third party material.
Registration for Copyright Essentials closes at 12pm on 20 February.
In two parts, the course provides a comprehensive overview of the basic principles of copyright, and attendees will learn how to identify the different types of work this applies to.
Copyright Essentials also covers the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 and other related legislation to help your staff protect and optimise your assets.
In the second part of Copyright Essentials, participants will discuss key issues relating to Brexit, Covid and copyright, and apply copyright knowledge to specific case studies.
