Help shape CILIP’s new strategy for 2026–2030

CILIP Strategy infographic

CILIP is developing a new strategy for 2026–2030, and we’re inviting the voices of our members, partners, and wider community to shape a future where libraries and knowledge services thrive and lead in a fast-changing world.

This is not just a strategy for CILIP — it’s a strategy for the future of our sector.

--------

Over the next three months, we’ll be consulting with our community to gather your views on how CILIP can best support its members and the wider sector through to 2030, while better demonstrating the many positive impacts we have on society. Your insight will help guide our priorities and ensure we are prepared to meet the challenges of tomorrow together.

We’re embarking on a consultation roadshow — both in-person and online — to connect with as many member networks as possible. Louis Coiffait-Gunn, CILIP CEO, and Kate Robinson, Chair of CILIP Trustees, will host two online Town Hall sessions to share our latest thinking and listen to your ideas. An online survey is also available to help make sure as many people can contribute as possible.

This consultation builds on the success of our current strategy, We Are CILIP, helping us deepen our impact, strengthen our relevance, and build lasting resilience.

We’re asking for your insight so we can work with you to:

  • Define the key issues and priorities for 2026–2030.
  • Understand what’s changing in your role, organisation, or community.
  • Decide where CILIP should lead, support, or amplify voices.
