Jo Cornish to become Interim CEO of CILIP

Jo Cornish will be stepping into the position of Interim CEO on 1st February 2024, and work with current CEO Nick Poole before he leaves at the end of March.

The CILIP Board has requested Jo Cornish, Chief Development Officer at CILIP, to step in as interim Chief Executive, following CILIP's Chief Executive, Nick Poole's announcement that he will leave CILIP at at the end of March for a new role.

Jo will act as interim CEO during the recruitment process for Nick's replacement.

Jo is pleased to share that she will assume the interim role starting from 1 February 2024, allowing for a smooth transition before Nick leaves.

She will continue in the interim position until the new Chief Executive is recruited and begins their role.

Jo, a Chartered Fellow of CILIP, with a background in public libraries, has accumulated eight years of experience at CILIP, gaining extensive knowledge of membership needs, priorities, and the organisation's offerings.

With established relationships across the sector, Jo played a key role in rewriting the sector skills standard, the "PKSB," and introducing apprenticeships to the sector.

She looks forward to providing continuity and stability during this transitional period, supporting the organization with her expertise.
