Benevolent Fund Case studies and Testimonials
Benevolent Fund Case studies and Testimonials

Monetary awards made to applicants are varied to cover essential household repairs, warm clothing, white goods, furniture etc. The Fund has intervened in situations where members face unmeetable but short term, financial outgoings that could have led to serious consequences or while waiting for funds to be freed up elsewhere. On occasions the Benevolent Fund works in partnership with another benevolent fund contributing 50/50 to an identifiable need.

The work of the BF can have a far-reaching benefit with appropriate intervention and applies to members of all ages and concerns. Claims are carefully considered and often identify areas of support that may short circuit a persistent financial impasse, ease a disability or address a short term matter, thereby lifting a weight from a person's or family's hardship and enabling self-determination and independence for the future.

Some messages of thanks upon completion of an application (all repeated here with the permission of the original applicants):

“I'm immensely grateful to the Benevolent Fund for this generous lifeline to support me during this difficult time.”

“Believe me, every little help means a lot to me. I am very grateful.”

“That's wonderful news. I can assure you, I already feel so much better. Thank you. I appreciate this must be a challenging time for the Benevolent Fund.”

“I really can't thank the trustees enough – it will make such a difference for us moving forward.”

“Thank you to the Benevolent fund for assisting me and for all the help you gave in collating the information I provided.”
