Rob Begley

Assistant Information Manager, House of Commons

Rob Begley is the Assistant Information Manager at Strategic Estates - House of Commons. He has worked in Information and Records Management (IRM) for nearly 10 years in both the public and private sectors.

Rob's interest in Blockchain technology stems from his Master’s Degree in IRM at Northumbria University where his dissertation focused on the level of knowledge on, and potential impact of, Blockchain technology on IRM. 

Rob, along with Jon Bushell, has delivered presentations for industry conferences and has written articles for industry publications on the topic of Blockchain and IRM.

 

Jonathan Bushell

Modern Records Archivist, The Royal Society

Jon Bushell is the Modern Records Archivist at the Royal Society, responsible for the care, cataloguing and management of the Royal Society’s corporate records and archive collections from 1900 to the present day.

He has worked in information management and information technology roles over the last 10 years, and completed an MA in Archives and Records Management at UCL in 2013. He is interested in the opportunities and risks that new technologies bring to the management of records and born-digital archives, both in the present and the future.

 

Craig Wentworth

Co-Founder and Research Director, Independent Thought Limited

Craig Wentworth is a technology communicator, strategist, analyst, synthesist and sense-maker with nearly 30 years’ experience – including 18 years in the UK’s education sectors (both working at national strategy level as well as heading up departments in individual institutions); and seven years as a technology industry analyst / consultant (advising clients across a variety of public and commercial sectors).

Craig’s time in Higher Education ranged from leading a university library systems team, to directing national innovation programmes in new and emergent technologies. More recently, Craig has been Principal Analyst at MWD Advisors (leading on blockchain, content management, and cloud platforms), and Research Director and European Blockchain Practice Lead at IDC, which he left to set up Independent Thought Limited – an independent analyst consulting firm focusing on how blockchain and decentralisation has the potential to change the ways in which people and organisations connect and collaborate with each other, and get work done.

 

Martin Hamilton

Martin Hamilton is a strategist and innovation adviser who has worked at the intersection of research, education and industry for some 30 years - from Internet protocol design to running a supercomputer centre and advising universities and government on e-Infrastructure and education technology strategy. Martin now runs his own consulting practice martinh.net, and has written and presented extensively about the potential of fourth industrial revolution technologies like AI, augmented reality and blockchain.

 

Alex Green

Digital Preservation Services Manager, The National Archives

Alex Green is the Service Owner for Digital Preservation at The National Archives. She leads a small team of researchers exploring challenges in digital preservation and is the Product Owner of The National Archives’ digital archive. On the ARCHANGEL project, she provided input on archival processes and principles.
