Graduate traineeships

A graduate traineeship provides a period of paid work experience after which you complete a CILIP accredited postgraduate-level qualification.

Usually lasting between 10 and 12 months, graduate traineeships are great for enhancing your job prospects and for helping you to decide what sort of work you would like to do once qualified.

The work will vary depending on the type of organisation your traineeship takes place in but all provide a useful introduction to the variety of library, information and knowledge management work.

After your work experience you will then study for a Masters-level qualification, accredited by CILIP. This can be full-time, part-time or distance learning. We are delighted that lots of our trainees are offered jobs by their placement provider at the end of their course.

If you are a graduate interested in a library and information career use our graduate training opportunities directory to find a paid entry level post and get started on your career.
