Mentors support candidates working on Chartership, Certification and Fellowship. They are experienced professionals and are trained in mentoring skills. Becoming a mentor can improve your ability to develop and nurture your own staff while
learning new ideas and approaches from other professionals. Many mentors value the feeling of 'giving something back' to the profession too. Mentoring can be done in person, by email, by telephone or on online platforms.
Becoming a mentor
CILIP are always looking for new mentors to join the process and share their expertise with candidates. All members who hold a level of Professional Registration can apply to become mentors for those working toward their own level of Professional Registration.
Mentors normally complete a training session in mentoring skills. Mentor training is organised by CILIP HQ. For further information or to register for mentor training then contact memberservices@cilip.org.uk.
Mentor Support
CILIP HQ co-ordinates activities for mentors. They provide support and advice and facilitate exchange of information sessions and can provide you with examples of good practice.
