What you can expect from our online training events

Naomi Korn Associates and CILIP Partnership Online Training on Copyright issues

We design our online training events to enable delegates to have the best learning experience in an online learning environment.

Two half-days, a week apart
Online programmes are the equivalent of a full-day session. We deliver them as two half-day sessions from 10am-1pm a week apart. We have found that that structure enables delegates to have concentrated online learning in two manageable chunks of time.

Balance and breaks
We recognise that copyright and related subjects can be complex and delegates will be taking on a lot of new knowledge. So our sessions our designed to provide a balance for delegates: learning by listening to the trainer and active and interactive learning using quizzes, reflections and group activities.

For the wellbeing of all participants, we have two short breaks during a 10am-1pm session to give delegates time away from the screen and to enable delegates to have a bit of thinking and reflecting time.

Interactivity and discussion
At our online sessions we have interactive breakout activities in order to enable delegates to learn through shared knowledge and discussion. We also encourage our delegates to participate and engage by:

  • Contributing to discussions and feedback from the small group activities.
  • Asking the trainer questions.
  • Adding comments, shared practice in the chat.

To get the best from our training events we encourage our delegates, where possible, to:

  • Participate in the activities.
  • Consider all other participants and give others opportunities to contribute particularly in breakout discussions.
  • Have a working camera and microphone.
  • Focus on the training by closing down or logging out of other online channels such as email and Teams.
  • Ensure colleagues are aware that you are undertaking training and are not available.

Listening and improving
We are always looking at ways to improve our training events and encourage our delegates to give us feedback on how our events can be improved.

If you have any questions or feedback, please reach out to Jill Howard, CILIP Training Manager at Jill.Howard@cilip.org.uk.
