The Trouble with PRISMA 2020

Posted By Debby R. Wegener, 22 March 2023
Updated: 22 March 2023
Hi Everyone. I am a librarian supporting the Health Sciences students at the Singapore Institute of Technology. Does anyone else have problems with the difference between Reports and Studies in the Included section of the PRISMA 2020 flow diagram? I have read all the documentation I can find but I still feel the explanations in my infographic need work https://libguides.singaporetech.edu.sg/ld.php?content_id=49703080 Looking forward to hearing from other Health Sciences librarians. Rgds Debby

Hi Debby, Are you a member of Medical Library Association? I recommend asking the Systematic Review Caucus via the listserv. Best, Sarah

Hi Debbie, as I understand it: Studies (the number of research studies included in the review) Reports (the number publications arising from the studies. There could be multiple reports from each study as researchers may publish early findings, then a later paper with more in-depth analysis)
