Looking for contacts in small specialist libraries

Posted By Amanda J. Taylor, 17 January 2023
Hello I lead KM, library and literature searching at NFER (National Foundation for Educational Research) - we're an independent not-for-profit research organisation of around 250 colleagues. We have IRO status with UKRI/ESRC but otherwise our 'ac.uk' connection is limited to our URL! One of my perennial challenges is finding cost-effective solutions to variable literature searching and retrieval needs and explaining the high costs of database access to colleagues who don't appreciate licensing restrictions and think we must be able to buy into some wonder bundle or access via HEIs etc. Our KM/library function is small, low budget but servicing wide ranging and ever changing internal needs - if this sounds familiar and you'd be up for occasional networking I'd love to hear from you! Similarly if you're based in an HEI and you're aware of any external memberships with remote access that we could be eligible for I'd be super interested (suprised and delighted!) And of course any education liaison librarians :-) Thanks Amanda
