CILIP in Surrey Visit to The National Archives 15th May 2019 at 1.45 pm

All those working or interested in libraries and information services in Surrey and the surrounding areas are very welcome to attend this CILIP in Surrey event.

How to find us - The National Archives

The National Archives (TNA) is a non-ministerial Government department, and the official archive and publisher for the UK Government. TNA offers visitors a range of activities and spaces to enjoy and with reading rooms for research. The site in Kew has a bookshop and restaurant, set in beautiful grounds just a five-minute walk from the River Thames. TNA have a special one hour tour for Library and information service professionals, which is a reference-focused tour of the reading rooms, including the Library and rare books collection. Maximum of ten people per group. You will be able to explore TNA either before or after our tour. However, you will only need a reader’s ticket to access the original document reading rooms. You do not need a reader’s ticket to view digital records, or microfilm and microfiche records. To obtain or renew a reader’s ticket you will need two forms of identity: a proof of name with a valid signature and a proof of address. Please see the National Archives website for Details

Please Note TNA has requirements for visitors: “To help us preserve the records for future generations, please observe our guidance for using the reading rooms and handling documents e.g. No coats, bags or umbrellas – please leave in the lockers provided on the ground floor": Info
