Posted By Richard G. Bridgen, 14 October 2025

UKSG is dedicated to providing a diverse array of events, awards, and training opportunities tailored to address the pressing issues within our membership and the broader knowledge community. You can sign up here to stay informed and be the first to receive updates on new events and activities. Join us as we share thoughtful discussions, valuable insights, and foster meaningful connections within our community.  Explore our calendar of upcoming events outlined below.

Understanding Resource Discovery: Archives and Primary Sources Content online seminar

11th & 12th November – online

Understanding Resource Discovery: Archives and Primary Sources Content is a new seminar that aims to expand participants’ knowledge and understanding of the challenges of a successful discovery experience related to specific content types.

This seminar is the first of what we hope will be a series of online seminars exploring the particularities and challenges of discovery with different kinds of content types by their format or business models. This seminar will take place over two half days on Tuesday 11th November and Wednesday 12th November.  For more details visit the website here.

UKSG Usage data for decision making online seminar

11th & 12th November – online

Join this popular online seminar to explore how usage statistics drive strategic decision-making in libraries and publishing. With increasing pressure on budgets, libraries must justify investments and enhance user experience, while publishers need insight into how data informs collection development. This two half-day event will cover advances in standardisation (COUNTER), challenges in demonstrating value, and future approaches to analytics and development in open access. Speakers will share examples of using data to support resource decisions and communicate impact to stakeholders.

Ideal for professionals responsible for collecting, analysing and making recommendations based on usage data, whether in a library setting or within a publishing organisation. For more details visit the website here.
