Our newsletter is emailed to Local Studies Group members, usually twice a year. If you have news and events to promote, do get in touch with us.

For the latest news and events related to local studies head to the Local Studies Group blog. We also publish case studies and the Local Studies Toolkit here. We are always looking for new content from members, so if you have something to promote or celebrate contact the blog editor. 

The old Local Studies Group blog on CILIP Communities is still available to view, thanks to the British Library's Web Archive.

Toolkit

In 2020/21 we are publishing a new version of the Local Studies Toolkit. The aim is to produce a freely accessible online guide that will help and inspire local studies professionals and para-professionals to provide an excellent local studies service within their authority. The Local Studies Librarian

From 1982 to 2019 we produced the journal the Local Studies Librarian.  We now publish news, reviews and case studies via our email newsletter and our blog. Digitised back issues of the The Local Studies Librarian can be found below and on our blog. The indexes can also be there.
