This course will be of benefit to professionals working across museums, libraries and archives who are reproducing, publishing or digitising copyright works.
By attending this event delegates will:
- Identify what copyright works might be orphan works
- Consider how you might use orphan works and the pros and cons of the various solutions
- Understand how rights holders can be traced and what constitutes reasonable searches
- Discuss the role of risk management, how to mitigate risks and what do if a rights holder comes forward
- Consider various case studies as they apply to different situations which are discussed
