Hi, I'm currently working towards my Chartership and looking into reading for wellbeing as part of the Wider Context criterion. I'm a mental health first aider at the school where I work, and also a menopause champion, and the mental wellbeing of both staff and students is a big part of my role - I've created a quiet room for staff, with a dedicated wellbeing library, and have created and expanded the Health and Wellbeing section for students, with texts specific to teens. The library also hosts weekly staff and student mindfulness sessions. I have spoken with our school counsellor about 'reading for wellbeing' and she made an excellent point in that it can't just be any book, as so many books, particularly YA, contain triggering content, which suggests it needs to be a more tailored approach rather than a one-size-fits-all. I was wondering if anyone from outside the school library environment can offer me any info/advice on this - I'm particularly interested in bibliotherapy... Thanks!
